What to expect when you start strength training at Belift

Starting something new can feel a little intimidating, especially if it’s your first time in a gym, or if you’ve tried before and it didn’t stick. At Belift, we understand that feeling, and we’ve designed a strength training experience that helps you feel capable, confident, and supported from day one.

Here’s what you can expect when you join us:


1. A Warm Welcome and Personalised Approach


Every new member begins with a 1-to-1 Discovery Session. This is your time to:


- Meet your trainer and get comfortable in the space

- Share your goals, fitness level, and any previous injuries

- Ask questions and learn what strength training at Belift will involve



Many members leave this first session already feeling more confident, and ready to take the next step.


2. Starting small group sessions

After your Discovery Session, you move into our small group sessions. These sessions are:

  • Beginner-friendly and supportive

  • Designed to match your pace and ability

  • Focused on helping you feel part of the community


You won’t feel rushed or left behind, everyone is on their own journey, just like you.


3. Learning technique and build confidence

The foundation of strength training is good technique. In your first few sessions, we focus on:

- Learning proper form for each exercise

- Engaging the right muscles safely

- Understanding breathing, posture, and alignment


This approach ensures you feel confident and capable before adding more weight or complexity.


4. Starting to get stronger

Once your technique is solid, we gradually introduce progressive strength training. You’ll begin to notice improvements in:


- Muscle strength and endurance

- Daily movement and functional fitness

- Confidence in your abilities


Even small increases in strength can make a big difference in how you feel day-to-day.


5. Continuing your journey

As you progress, your trainer will adjust your sessions to keep challenging you safely, celebrate your milestones, and help you build a sustainable strength training habit.


Belift is about more than lifting weights, it’s about discovering what your body can do and feeling proud of every little progress you make.
